Low Voltage 1558 Switchgear

At Coastal Power Systems, we have seen the safety concerns and damage caused by the failure of poorly manufactured switchgear. Therefore, we have taken it upon ourselves to develop our own brand of CPSafe OEM low voltage switchgear.

UL 1558 Low Voltage Switchgear

OEM low voltage switchgear controls, protects, and isolates electrical equipment at voltages that usually range from 100 volts to 1000 volts AC or DC by transferring power safely and efficiently.

Our CPSafe UL 1558 Switchgear ranges from 22 inches (2000A applications) to 30 inches (3200A applications) to 38 inches (5000A applications). It is constructed of 12-gauge or stronger steel with corrosion-resistant powder coating. Our switchgear contains grade 5 or better hardware, a silver-plated busbar, and GPO3 insulation barriers and standoffs.

CPSafe Switchgear has the following specifications:

  • 600A – 5000A ratings available
  • 600 volts and 100KAIC
  • NEMA 1 (indoor) and NEMA 3R (outdoor) available
  • Cable, add to existing bussed or transformer tie-in applications
  • Medium Voltage Relay Integration
  • High-resistance ground, thermal sensing, and other available options
  • Digital metering, remote operation, and any control requirements available on the market

We can also supply equipment from any major manufacturer and perform any custom upgrades or modifications.

Safety

CPSafe Switchgear addresses all levels of safety hazards:

  • Risk Level 1: Arc flash protective breaker, circuit breaker with a KAIC rating, zone-selective interlocking and communicating
  • Risk Level 2: Shutter assemblies, hand-safe construction, arc flash maintenance modes
  • Risk Level 3: Arc flash-seeking technology, smart switch systems that communicate in the event of a fault

Arc flash reduction, communication, and zone interlocking are all essential elements that function to keep personnel safe.

Industries and Applications

We engineer our UL 1558 low voltage switchgear to avoid failure under extreme faults, which could include explosions hot enough to vaporize copper. While we can design systems to distribute power to any type of load in any facility, common industries we work with include:

We have also supplied switchgear for power distribution and generator applications.

Standards

We manufacture our OEM low voltage switchgear according to these standards:

  • UL 1558
  • ANSI C.37.20.1
  • IEE
  • NEMA

Our experienced CPS technicians who build, test, and commission CPSafe Switchgear have extensive experience installing hundreds of pieces of gear. Following these standards makes our switchgear rugged, durable, and installation- and user-friendly.
